Building Resilient Infrastructure and Communities
Building Resilient Infrastructure and Communities (BRIC) is a Hazard Mitigation Assistance (HMA) grant program that makes federal funds available to states, U.S. territories, federally recognized Tribal Nations, and local governments for hazard mitigation activities. FEMA has made $1 billion in BRIC funding available for the current cycle for communities to strengthen infrastructure through new building projects or modernizing existing public facilities to address climate driven hazards. The NOFO for BRIC is focused specifically on major infrastructure projects that are ready to implement and have a nexus to mitigate natural hazards such as wildfire, flooding, and hurricanes. The application period opened on March 25, 2026, and will run for 120 days. The deadline to submit applications is July 23, 2026. Eligible applicants and subapplicants must apply through FEMA Grants Outcomes (FEMA GO). Full NOFO is published on Grants.gov.
