The Blizzard of `26

The Blizzard of `26

The SRAC has invested money over many years building a regional cache system, stocking equipment for regional deployment. The Caches include generators, message boards, light towers, and in some cases debris pumps, hand-washing sinks, and an inflatable tent. These items deploy year-round for local emergencies and planned events.

This February, southeastern New England experienced a record-setting blizzard. During the blizzard, there were several calls for equipment, and multiple generators and a light tower were deployed. These resources kept communications and dispatch running, as well as provided valuable scene lighting during blizzard and nighttime conditions.

Did you have an unmet need during the blizzard? Please reach out in case we can utilize grant funding to help close it. Need to request use of a cache item or see what we have? More information can be found at our Cache website.
