The 2026 FIFA World Cup is coming to Foxborough in June and July, 2026. Behind the scenes many public safety agencies are preparing, planning, and readying themselves for this massive event. SRAC expects that much of its previously funded equipment such as Electronic Message Boards, Portable Lighting, and Generators will be deployed in support of the event. Additionally, our four Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) teams, Search and Rescue (SAR) teams, Technical Rescue teams, and other specialized teams are ramping up training in case of emergency deployment.

Several exercises, designed and facilitated by the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency will run prior to the World Cup, further enhancing the region’s response and preparedness planning efforts.

It is during events like this where the interoperability and overall mission of the SRAC shines, bringing many personnel, trainings, exercises, and equipment purchases together to provide for the safety of people attending the World Cup.
